OFMF members are represented on issues such as species at risk, land claims, trapline transfers, Ministry guidelines/season changes, and anti groups to name a few.
Our Executive Board meets regularly with NDMNRF Senior Staff in Peterborough Wildlife and Policy Section as well as The Minister of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry, The Fur Institute of Canada, The Human Wildlife Conflict Committee, The Agricultural Nuisance Wildlife Committee, and The Algonquin Land Claim Stakeholder Committee, to name a few. We also represent the trapping community in preventing municipalities that want to ban trapping. With our presence in all of these panels, our memberships’ comments, concerns and questions will definitely be heard, discussed, and dealt with.
By being a member of OFMF, you help us to promote trapping to the general public and schools, with events such as the International Plowing Match, the Cottage Life Show, the Toronto Sportsman Show and many local community events.
